Sleep Party People

Med dragende melodier, atmosfærisk knitrende lyde, stærkt forvrænget vokal og kompleks sangskrivning formår Sleep Party People at bringe sin lytter med til ukendte steder. Og det er svært at komme derfra. Live holder sangene distancen og får tilført en lidt mere up-tempo electronica-feel – der dog er helt igennem håndspillet.

Factory Floor

Med Stephen Morris (New Order/Joy Division) bag producerpulten er der dømt post-apokalyptisk disco fra underverdenen med inspiration i Manchester anno 1980. Factory Floor har desuden elementer fra krautrock, postpunk og no-wave. Det er elektronisk pulserende musik, med et definitivt originalt udtryk. Det er en slags organisk synthesizerpunk med en kompromisløs kold lyd, der fremkalder hypnotisk trance-dans.

PAPER

Præcision som Neu, legende instrumentering som Wire, brændende guitarlyd som Nirvana og samme desperat dirrende nerve som Joy Division.

Deerhoof

Deerhoof: et af de mest stilskabende bands inden for alternativ rock i de seneste 15 år.

Abrupte skift, udfarende temperamentssving og små støjeksplosioner men med ualmindelig evne til at skrue en veldrejet popsang sammen.

Med den japansk fødte kvindelige forsangerinde Satomi Matsuzaki, der skiftevis synger på japansk og engelsk, får Deerhoof samtidigt et excentrisk egensindigt præg

Thulebasen

Grænsesøgende, intenst, suggestivt og legesygt. 2011 er Thulebasens år.

Owen Pallet

Gennem loopede strygere, fantasifulde arrangementer og bittersøde melodier afsunget med så rørende en smuk stemme skaber Owen Pallet musik for engle.

Shout Wellington Air Force brand new record ’Clean Sunset’ got great reviews in the media. It’s a faboulus record with melodies toying your ear and not stopping! It’s af mind fuck of a record never heard in Denmark before.

Field Music (UK)

Manual (DK)

An atmospheric mixture of shoegaze and ambient, Manual is one of its kind in Denmark. With releases on Morr Music Jonas Munck perpetually crosses lines from Cocteau Twins, Boards Of Canada, Talk Talk and Brian Eno, with nothing less than astonishing results. Manual will be performing as a three-piece at Pop Revo.

Caribou (CAN)

Aknowledged for a constant development in sound Caribou has crafted some of the most intriguing sounds from the last decade. Blending electronica, kraut, psychedelic pop it’s difficult to pinpoint these Canadians, but new album “Swim” has never made it so easy to dance to intelligent experimental music.

Bear In Heaven (DK)

Coming from the same New York-pot which brew such fantastic luminaries as Animal Collective, Gang Gang Dance and Yeasayer, these guys have a profoundly experimental vibe, but never lets it stand in the way for astounding songs that bubbles with an aroma of eighties new wave as well as nineties acid trips.

The Rumour Said Fire (DK)

Timeless melodies with a penchant for the cozy sounds of the sixties and seventies, this young band has been compared to Crosby, Stills & Nash, Simon & Garfunkel and Neil Young. In Denmark the band has received massive recognition and a devote fanbase already. The rest of the world is bound to follow soon…

Figurines (DK) - Performing "Skeleton"

Being in the absolute top league of independent music in Denmark, it can be surprising that Figurines have not yet played Pop Revo. The wait will be worth it, as Figurines will do an unique performance of their masterpiece ‘Skeleton’. An album that not only opened the international scene for the band, but entirely changed the map and opened up doors for alternative music in Denmark.

Kissaway Trail (DK)

They may enforce cryptic drama, but always with a strong emotional and catchy appeal. Then again, their follow up to their acclaimed debut was originally ditched to make place for the wonderful ‘Sleep Mountain’, which is an album, which seems made out of great necessity and importance. Not many bands climb the mountains as gracefully as The Kissaway Trail.
